Meet Hedrick

Hello, my name is Hedrick Martinez, and I'm from Kipp Indy Legacy High School. I aim to pursue music production in college, hoping to create music that’ll inspire others. Harrison Center allows me to continue making music and songwriting about our community. My passion for music began when I listened to my dad sing old Spanish songs and watched my mom dance with him to reggaeton and salsa. These moments pushed me to explore the vast musical genres, learn how songs were created, and appreciate the instruments musicians use when making music.

I was debating whether to intern when my school counselor told me about the Harrison Center. I found out that the Harrison Center encourages musicians to explore their creativity when making music, which stuck with me. I could use my creativity at the Harrison Center to make music for our community.

A fun fact about me is that I love rewatching the Harry Potter trilogy every other month.
