Meet Kenedy

I am Kenedy Manuel, the new Harrison Center Fellow for the Polklore Micro Museum! I am excited to work with the Greatriarchs after witnessing Mrs. Shirley Webster truly love her community and being a leader to us all in many ways. She talked highly of the Harrison Center and the Greatriarchs. You will probably see me at all things Polklore and Greatriarchs over the next several months!

I am passionate about understanding those who inhabited the space I am in before I was here.

I have familial roots in Martindale-Brightwood but am excited to make more of my own! I am a recent college graduate who studied history and international studies. I enjoy learning about anyone's story and culture and love making connections between the past and present. I love learning about Black history and local history. My own family's stories and genealogy have inspired me to understand more about Indiana and the Indianapolis Black community, where I am from.

I enjoy reading books, exploring Indy, and traveling the world. I also enjoy writing poetry, making and eating good food, watching good movies and sitcoms, taking long walks, and playing/buying too many vinyls.

You will find me giving Polklore tours, interviewing at Storytelling Drawing Sessions, and at Greatriarch luncheons! I am excited to meet everyone!
