Liz Nelson is a painter and an illustrator who works primarily in acrylic and pen. She loves vibrant colors and bold brush strokes and enjoys mixing aspects of illustration with a more free form of painting. Nelson likes to explore concepts in her pieces often in a somewhat subtle and abstract way. She draws influence from poetry and life and uses trees as a recurring theme and inspiration. In addition to her larger, more abstract paintings, she has an ongoing series of illustrations and cutouts manifested on salvaged book covers. Her hope for her work is to provoke thought and emotional engagement in its viewers.
