Willard Johnson (1987. Seoul, Korea) lives and works in Indianapolis, IN.

Johnson is a visual artist working in painting, drawing, and collage. His paintings explore the language of abstraction, reassembling fragments from the collision of worlds and cultures to create the tension and paradox of cross-cultural intersectionality.

Johnson has shown his work nationally in New York, Detroit, Virginia and Indiana. After completing his BA from Anderson University in 2010, he received his Masters of Fine Art, Painting at Cranbrook Academy of Art. His work can be found in private collections both nationally and internationally. His solo show, “When Strangers Meet” opens at the Harrison Gallery in Indianapolis, IN June 2020.
