Meet James LeFebvre
My name is James LeFebvre. I grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana, in a family full of artists. From a young age, I was taught to paint and draw by my mother and grandmother and to work with wood by my father and grandfather.
I have had many incredible teachers, professors, and mentors who have helped me become a better artist, and I hope to honor all they have given to me in the art that I create. I graduated from Covenant Christian High School in 2022 and am now a senior studio arts major at Indiana Wesleyan University. I have many artistic passions, including woodworking, drawing, sewing, weaving, and metalworking, and my career goal as of now is to become a Jeweler.
Growing up around Indy, I have been visiting the Harrison Center on First Fridays for many years, and I have always loved the community in and around the building. I am so excited to have the opportunity to be a part of that community this summer through my internship as I work on the envelope project. As I spend the summer here, I hope to learn as much as possible about how a studio practice is run, how galleries operate, and how artists work in community to succeed and grow.
