Unfettered: A Colorful Retrospective by Kami Noland |
Kami Noland, undergoing massive life changes while creating her show, experienced hardship that left her debilitated for much of the first four of the seven weeks she had to prepare. But she pushed on.
With a quick walk through the gallery, you might not be able to tell, but when you linger with her pieces, taking note of the diversity of what she presents, you can start to see her search for direction—her effort resulting in the 57 unique pieces created over the years that make up Unfettered. The great thing about art is, as Noland puts it, "[it] takes so many shapes. No one is the ultimate authority on what is 'good' art. It's entirely too subjective."

Harrison Center's Very First Intern Exhibition |
The group exhibition Internal, hosted at the Hank and Dolly Gallery throughout July, celebrates the creativity and camaraderie of the 2026 Harrison Center summer interns. This is Harrison’s first intern-led show, and it showcases the work of Ruth Tesfaye, Jack Mahaffey, Claire Lafiosca, Caroline Otto, Chace Bailey, Bridget Peck, Aysha Edmondson, and James Lefebvre.
"It really is a collective effort," says arts admin intern Alex Cuellar. "Seeing how an event coordinator's logistics mesh with the creative vision of the studio helps—it taught me that the art isn't just what hangs on the wall, but the community we build to put it there."
Internal serves as far more than a simple display - it is a hub where voices converge. It offers a platform for this year's interns who are passionate about art to present their work. This exhibit has shown that art is not just an object on a wall, but a living dialogue between the artist and everyone who steps through the door.
