Experience the Heart of Our Gym Through Wally Cox |
Wallace "Wally" Lloyd Cox, Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame member, shared his memories of our historic gymnasium and First Presbyterian church during the 1940s and 50s. He was a part of the Boys Club, and regularly sang in the church choir.
He was a resident of what is now the Kennedy-King neighborhood and his recollections of school, neighbors, businesses, and people remind us of what makes community vital. His basketball career began right in our gym. He went on to play for Coach Hinkle at Butler University. Wally brings his smile and contagious spirit wherever he goes along with a love for Hoosier basketball. |
Explore a Global Perspective on Creativity |
In the show Coloring Outside the Lines: A Journey Across Artistic & Geographic Borders, presented by Exodus, several artists have come together to create a group show full of life and color. These artists are Haitian, Cuban, or Afghan and have used their personal experiences to fuel their creativity in different ways. Each one has created a unique style that celebrates different aspects of their home countries. "I was never good with words; I've always found it difficult to convey what it was that I was feeling, whether it was joy or sadness, but especially fear and anxiety. Painting ended up being a way to communicate with the outside world but also with myself," says Viviana Méndez, a young Cuban artist.
This show is hosted by Exodus Refugee. As a whole, this show seeks to honor the stories and experiences of these artists and to provide them with the opportunity to share their artwork.

Discover the Key to the Process in Immersion |
In Jason Zickler's latest show, Immersion, he invites viewers to look closely. Working in acrylic paint and epoxy resin, Zickler creates paintings that feel mystical and hypnotic.
Zickler has taken the time to develop a unique painting style, in which he first pours acrylic paint onto the canvas in various forms and patterns, then seals it with epoxy resin. This creates a shiny, ethereal finish that perfectly complements the composition. Regarding this part of the process, Zickler says: "Pouring is the heart of my process—steady, fluid, and full of intention. I work with paint the way one might work with memory: letting it flow freely, but always with purpose." Online Gallery | Blog
