Meet Makenzie
Hello everyone! My name is Makenzie Yates, I am sixteen years old, and I attend Herron High School. I am currently in my senior year. I am also an early graduate, and I aspire to become a social worker and entrepreneur. I have always had a passion for giving back to my community, all while doing the things I love. Some of my hobbies include playing sports, doing nail art, and volunteering for various charities, nonprofits, or churches. In my free time, I like to hang out with my friends, get ahead on homework, and hang out with my family.
I currently have the opportunity to intern at the Harrison Center, and I am loving it! Although I just started a couple of days ago, I am already enjoying it and learning a lot. They have shown me different perspectives from different artists. I have seen some artists create live work or prepare to do so, and I have listened in on conversations with various artists and understand their perspective on the world from a creative mindset.
Some ways I can grow from this internship include learning from different artists and growing from them. I want to take in information from different artists and apply it to my character so I can use this to become a better person as a whole. I always strive to be more involved in my community, and I look forward to the ways this internship can help me do that. I am very excited to see what this internship has in store for me. I can see myself learning from what they will teach me and applying it to my future. Thanks to all who are listening!
