We are ready, ready for spring here! Lucky for us, the blooms came early in the form of Kevin Hughey's large-scale, close-up, vivid blooms. The paintings, including several sculptural pieces, light up the Gallery Annex this month with enough color to make us almost forget winter was ever a thing.
Hughey tells us that his inspiration comes from his wife's flower garden. Passionate about the beauty and individuality of the blooms, he finds the best way to explore the many colors and shapes is to "paint big so the detail is big." The effect is stunning.
Come by and check it out. Thanks to Hughey, no matter the forecast it's spring in the Annex, every day through April 29.
