Find Unexpected Joy in the Resilience of Hope |
The state of the world today feels overwhelming and discouraging for many, and looking around, it is easy to feel stuck in despair. Yet there is something that pushes against this: hope. Stephanie Lewis Robertson's The Resilience of Hope is grounded in her belief that hope is always present. As she puts it, "spring always comes after winter, babies are born, daffodils will bloom."
This show emerged amid personal challenges: after her husband fractured his pelvis in a snowstorm, Robertson became the primary caregiver and was unable to work for nearly a month. When she returned, she created a piece about his injury, ultimately reversing it and, through this hardship, discovering “there is beauty in the landscape that appeared."

| We hope everyone has a safe, warm, and restful Monday as we honor the life and enduring mission of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Through our Greatriarch program, we’ve had the honor of hearing several stories from community members who remember his impact in Indianapolis.
Listen as Reverend Dr. Thomas Brown, longtime neighbor, activist, and son of civil rights leader Reverend Andrew J. Brown, who hosted Dr. King—reflects on the freedom movement and its influence on the community.
More art and story can be found here. |
