Meet Ruth
Hi! My name is Ruth Tesfaye. I am an international student from Ethiopia Majoring in studio art. I am a sophomore at Taylor University. I came to know about Harrison Center through a class trip I did for one of the first Fridays. I had a very good experience being able to see artists in their own studio and to engage with them, it was something I have not seen in other places, that made me wanted to do something here.
I have always liked art and has been doing it since childhood. One of my greatest passions is to be an architect. I like the idea of having a well build and aesthetically pleasing environment.
One of the ways this internship will help me is to be able to engage with the community and know what people are missing and what people what to see more on their places in real life, to be able to see what is missing and what need change will help me in my future project I want to make. Besides career plans, it is also good for me to be able to see and work with great artists and learn to work with different types of mediums.
