Discover the City Through Gullery's Miniatures |
Sun-Young Gullery's Harrison Center debut, Indy in Inches, features 56 miniature acrylic paintings celebrating Indianapolis’s coffee shops, bakeries, bookshops, and other beloved spots. Originally from Cleveland, she has lived in Indianapolis since 2013 and has devoted herself seriously to art over the past four years.
As a mother and high school art teacher, she enjoys the flexibility miniature painting allows in balancing her creative and daily life. Gullery hopes viewers will see the beauty in the city's diversity, reminisce on their own memories, and appreciate the local places that make Indianapolis home.

Encounter Strength in FLAWS: A Beautiful Mess
|
This October in the Underground Gallery isn't your typical polished art show. Instead, you'll find paintings, sculptures, collages, and mixed-media works celebrating the messy, imperfect, gloriously human parts of ourselves we usually try to hide. This exhibition shows how even our most harrowing moments can create something breathtaking.
Here's what makes this show truly special: the artists aren't your usual gallery crowd. They are patients fighting their toughest battles, caregivers pouring everything into healing others, medical staff making impossible decisions, and community members from every corner of life, connected through IU Health's CompleteLife program.

Steve's Storytelling Testimony |
We are back at Spades Park Library branch throughout the month of November for Storytelling Drawing! From 1:30-2:30pm, we will listen to stories from a community member while we create. Our guest this week is Dr. Lionel Rush.
Hear from regular participant Steve Tanaka: "Attending weekly sessions has helped me see the connection between honoring the cultural heritage of the neighborhood and the dynamic process of making art. The world truly is a more beautiful place because we prioritize culture and diversity, and find love in our communities."

Celebrate Creativity With the 2025 Envelope Project |
The Harrison Center’s annual fundraising campaign has arrived! This year’s envelope is more than just mail. It’s a piece of art, created by our Envelope Intern, James LeFebvre. Watch as he shares his inspiration and process for bringing it to life.
When your envelope arrives, we hope it reminds you that art doesn’t just hang on walls—it moves through people. Inside, you’ll find a letter highlighting the incredible work our artists and staff accomplished this year. After you read, please consider making a gift. Your support ensures that emerging artists like James continue to find their footing and that Indianapolis remains a city where creativity flourishes.
