Apply Now: Annual Color Show 2025 |
The Harrison Center is excited to announce its holiday color theme show for 2025, “Golden Ticket”, presented by the Katharine B. Sutphin Foundation. We are seeking submissions celebrating your interpretations of the theme. Your work could be inspired by the color “gold”, but we encourage any creative twists, such as interpreting something “valuable”, “a means of access”, or your take on the Roald Dahl literary classic, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! Launched with the Golden Ticket theme this year, the Katharine B. Sutphin Foundation will present cash prizes for the best and most creative art. Judges will choose the winners and announce them at 7 p.m. the evening of the opening. This show could be your golden ticket!
To be considered, entries must be artwork that incorporates the color gold. The show opens from 6pm to 9pm on Friday, December 5th, and the work hangs through the month of December. Click here to apply! |
Celebrate 15 Years of Artful Impact with Pourcho |
This year marks 15 years of Katheryn Pourcho being an elementary school art teacher. Art Teacher Vibes is an homage to the vibrant, quirky joys of teaching little artists.
Much like the variety of art supplies found in an art classroom closet, Pourcho has created this body of work using an eclectic mix of media ranging from painting, collage, ceramic, apparel, and video. Pourcho created a collection of mugs created with ceramicist Becca Ito, inspired by a childhood favorite story: Harold and the Purple Crayon, and partnered with the Harrison Center to create an educational video series titled "Art Class Dictionary."

| Meet the Intern: Saebella Sanders |
"I'll primarily work at the Polklore Micro-Museum and support the Harrison Center's broader efforts, especially on First Fridays.
After I graduate this spring, I plan to study art history and dance in college, so I'm even more excited to understand how art and museum work can come together during my time here. I'm so excited to bring my love for creativity, storytelling, and community to the Harrison Center and gain hands-on experience that will shape my future in the arts." That’s exactly what happens when you give stocks, cryptocurrency, retirement funds and other non-cash assets to the Harrison Center. When you donate these kinds of assets, you may enjoy a tax benefit and often can lead to a larger gift than you expect.

Unveil Hidden Stories in Shape and Space |
As both a visual artist and an architect of 20 years, Jessica Hogue uses innovative technology and data of personal significance to intertwine these two fields in her most recent body of work titled, Totems and Topographies.
Hogue utilizes a unique process of combining her background in sculpture and a design method called parametric modeling to embed her materials and work with personal meaning. The end result is a collection of beautiful objects reminiscent of totems or altars dedicated to the sacred that exists in our daily human experiences.
